Fromage du Monde
Monday, September 6, 2010

Say Cheese! Any cheese your heart desires.  Robyn Just, Proprietress of Fredericksburg’s brand new cheese and gourmet goodies shop, Fromage du Monde, will probably have just what you’re looking for.  Not only does Robyn have a fabulous, and constantly growing, array of cheeses from around the globe, but she has an immense knowledge of cheese.  Describe the taste and texture you’re craving and this lady will hook you up with the perfect cheese.

Fromage du Monde is located in an inviting new shop on Fredericksburg’s jumpin’ new West Main shopping/eating/imbibing district.  Browse the selection of goodies, purchase a bottle of wine from Water 2 Wine next door, select some cheeses and your choice of crackers or freshly baked breads, then retreat to one of Robyn’s comfy sofas or a bistro table.  Relax, indulge yourself, and watch the world go by outside.  It’s such a civilized place.  Those of us who live in Fredericksburg love the place and Robyn, who is so accommodating to our requests.  We no longer have to drive to Austin or San Antonio to find fine aged balsamic or sherry vinegar or excellent freshly baked baguettes, ciabatta, kalamata olive and sourdough breads, plus much more.

The shop has a great selection of wine and cheese accessories, books on cheese, and a selection of the coolest (and well priced) picnic baskets I’ve ever seen.  Don’t miss it when visiting Fredericksburg.  Tell Robyn we said “howdy”.
