Texas Brews
Monday, September 6, 2010

Everybody knows that Texas barbecue and beer are synonymous – you’ve just got to have beer with Q!  But savvy Texans are mighty particular about their beer.

As a result, we’ve got some great micro-breweries in the State producing great, European, full-bodied style beers – the kind the early pioneers preferred.  The Texas Food and Wine Gourmet salutes our micro-breweries.  Read more for the low-down on our favorite three.

Now, Texas is also home to two serious distilled spirits. Tito’s Handmade Vodka, made in Austin, Texas, was the first legal distillery in the history of Texas and actually the only micro-distillery in the country!  It’s world class stuff and we’ll tell you their story.  Now Texas has a second micro-distillery, Texacello LLC, also based in Austin, the makers of Paula’s Texas Orange and Paula’s Texas Lemon, two fabulous liqueurs.  We’ve got the scoop on Paula and her great creations.
